Default Misc Pictures (off-topic)

First one is for Steve...

Caught thisSpiderzilla running across the floor. It was almost big enough to freak me out. Almost.

Kendall wearing an apron and hanging out with much shorter people. (volunteer work for the Mid America Japanese Club charity yard sale) Nearly 10K was raised for children's hospitals and other charitygroups.

Gathering up food for the cook-out. No meat ruined there. []

Hey, take it easy on the Veep.
That is a really cool pic and a great shot!
Brings a whole new meaning to 'in one ear and out the other'.

If I see a spider that size in my house, the remedy will involve the words 'Louisville', 'Slugger', 'caliber' or 'gauge',rather than'glass jar' or 'camera'.
I guess us Northern IL boys just don't take too well to hairy critters with more than 4 legs sharin' our homesteads.

Nice of you two to volunteer your time for yet another good cause.
No wonder you have no time for deer hunting.

In my defense Di, I hadn't had my coffee yet and forgot the hat.

On a side note, I was able to miss a doe this morning that was closer than the squirrel! Yeah totally missed! [:@][:@][:@]
I have never been soooooooo close to deer. This Rancho Safari shaggy suit is awesome! Since using it I've been undetected by several deer. Most noteably a 3+ year old buck at 4 yards that never spooked. One deer came in behind me to bed down. I couldn't turn w/o spooking it but it had to be within feet not yards. Then there was these does this morning. They were within 20 yards for several minutes at one point they were feeding on the other side of the rose bush I was hiding in. And...at that time they were dead down wind.

Oh come on! You don't think he's cute....in a big-scary-guy-kinda-way?

That's awesome that you got that close Kendal! That's bowhunting right there. It sucks that you missed the shot. I missed a small 8-point at 15 yards 2 years ago. I was on the ground and looking him in the face and everything. Don't know how it happened, but I missed him clean. And I had a compound! Would've been my third deer that season. Guess I was thinking more about that.

I just can't believe how close you were! That's great. What did you do for scent-control that they were down-wind and didn't spook?

Very cool about the close range deer. I know what you're feeling.
I cannot have a better day than when I have them close to me and unaware. I feel like I beat them on their own turf before I even draw back, or even if I never get a shot.
