Lake Mingo
#1
Well the word is out. I drove out to Lake Mingo (Kennekuk county park) this morning and talked to the Assist. Director Mark Pitman. I asked about the possibilities of bowfishing the lake. He said 'No problem'. And that as far as he knew you could always bowfish there, except no one had ever asked before this year. You just had go obey the state laws. In fact he is a bowfisherman as well. He did ask that if you get any pictures to email them to [email protected] For any one from out of the area there is a day use fee of either 5-10 bucks I'm not sure. Here is the strange part, if no one is there to collect go ahead and launch and have fun. If some one is there you have to pay. From my experience there is no one ever there. you can buy a full season pass for $60. and that is also good for Lake vermilion which you can also bowfish the North end. The Good Lord willing I will be on Lake mingo tomorrow with bow in hand.

I forgot to add. Mr Pittman said that the DNR called and asked about bowfishing in Lake Mingo. The director told them that it was ok. So they said fine. Looks like a go to me. all the people who care or have any control say go for it. So let's go for it.
