I was out at my little creek here for exactly one hour, and got these 8. I also had at least 5 pull off. They're coming in in 'pods' I guess you'd say. 4-5-6-8 at a time. Not really schools, but they're definetly getting together.

Anyone want to come out some night for some wading and shootin, let me know. I'd only bring one person with me at a time since I live in a private community and the rules for bowfishing seem to be a grey-area here. Don't want to push it the wrong way, if ya know what I mean. But I'm sure I could get away with one other person walking the creek with me. It's blast! Just bring your bow, an extra arrow and your fishing-license.

Congrats! I got out for a few hours this morning and saw no spawning. Got into a few feeding schools though.

He's about a half hour SW of me.

The spawn was definately on at the Des Plaines Conservation Area on Saturday (06/03/06). From 0600 to 1000 the fish were bumping into my waders! Biggest fish:grass carp @16 lb andsmallmouth buffalo @13 lb. I met another bowfisherman who was using a crossbow - it was a sweet setup.

Thanks Bulz, I've been logging on as a guest for the past few weeks and really enjoyed the 'exchanges' in the forum. I've been out about 5 times this year including Shelbyville (although I was not competing in the state championship).I was crappie fishing with some of my friends and did a little bowfishing that Sunday morning on my own. I saw Slim and company cruise by in his fan boat;he ran into one of the many stickups on the south side of the lake!

I am thinking of joiningthe Illinois Bowfishers - just to get the hat!
