Hey Lil Philbert, welcome to the board. I get over to an area just outside of Channahon on the DesPlaines by boat and hit the DesPlaines Conservation area by foot. Both not too far from you. Bulzeye lives more in your area I believe, and he might know some more local possibilities.

Yeah, in addition to the DPCA already mentioned (20 mins away), there is a spot on the South side of Joliet (15 mins away) that is usually good for some carp, and a few creeks to wade around near Plainfield.
I'll be happy to share my spots. Shoot me or Mark a PM, and we'll get you hooked up.
Also, check the Illinois Bowfishers shoot schedule thread for upcoming events. There is one this weekend 6/3 near Bloomington that's only a 2 hour drive from Shorewood. Let me know if you want to carpool.

Hey Philbert, welcome to the forum! There's alot of good and knowledgeable people here.
There's a post here somewhere by JRW about a shoot on the Fox in either Montgomery or Oswego, I forget. It's here somewhere, I'm just too lazy to find the link.
Anyway, it's a canoe-float down the Fox and there's gonna be carp-shootin galore! That's not too far from Shorewood. If you want to go, either bring a canoe or you can rent one for $25.00 I believe. Pick-up's included if you rent. Or they'll pick up yours and drive you back to the start point for a fee (I think that's $25.00 also). That's on the 10th of June.
And I hear there's a bowfishing-get-together happening on friday the 9th. PM either myself, carpsniper, bulzeye, Mark or Christine if you're interested in attending. There will be food (of some sort), and I'm toldthe host is an awesome guy.
