Welcome to JDH Outfitters, where the finest of Ohio whitetail deer hunting is located. JDH is located in the heart of Ohio’s incredible deer country Adams, Pike and Scioto county. We are located in southern Ohio’s hill country and provide the four key ingredients to producing monster bucks, genetics, food, habitat, and age structure. The genetics in Ohio are some of the best in the country and are rewriting the record books as we speak. Our food and habitat could not be any better. With our strict management program in place we preserve growth, and JDH has it all when hunting for monster bucks.
JDH owns and leases some of the best ground southern Ohio offers. The land is scouted year round as we are not just a seasonal operation. We are working for you year round to assure you the best hunt of your lifetime. This is why JDH Outfitters has the reputation to “not be the biggest in the midwest,’’ just simply the BEST!
Our goal is to have 100% customer satisfaction, for every hunter. This is why we have clients rebook with us every year, and hunters that book that once in a lifetime hunt with us off word of mouth. We have never had to advertise and that’s why we have never had to advertise or go to a trade show, but due to expansion of additional property in Ohio and the expansion for the coming states in the following years we have felt it necessary.
In 2010 we took 20 hunters and harevested 13 bucks over 130in. plus a 127in. buck a youth hunter harvested as his first deer (so 14). Archery season was awesome putting 6 bucks on the ground for 10 archers, add the 2 wounded deer and 8 misses ya wow 160% opportunity and 1 killed the hit the 170 marker.Crossbows are LEGAL! Firearms which takes place after the rut and we put 8 bucks down, including one that hit above the 177 marker, gun season also shelled out 3 misses for a 110% opportunity should have been higher but we had some terrible weather. Our opportunity rates are calculated by misses not imaginary deer seen. We will always take a very very limited amount of hunters, and thats what drives our success. Most outfitters take 40 plus hunters during the first firearms hunt just to play the numbers game on the same amount of property we hunt! We dont even take that a season. For you budget hunters out thee that can bear the cold should think about our late archery hunts over feeders, AWESOME!
We are expanding into Indiana in 2012, we have secured over 6,000 acres of top notch hunting ground. We got tons of trail cam pics of bucks ranging from the 130-150 class and many above 150 and up to 190! Offering 2 gun hunts in the RUT! We are expecting very high success rates for Indiana as it will not have been touched for 2 years and never outfitted excluding some youth doe management. We use hotel lodging now and you are responsible for your meals. We are also planning for building a lodge in 2012 to include food,and with a 3-d archery course. We will also be adding Kentucky, Illinois, and Missouri in the coming years if the right property becomes available.
