I was looking through the latest Turkey & Turkey Hunting issue and came across this ad in the back: http://www.blackhills.com/vacationLook on the left side and click "Accommodations up to 4". Looks good.

It might be something you'd be interested in. I'm like you, I don't want to spend the $$$ on a guided hunt. Just give me a place to rest my head and the land to hunt and I'm good.

I just booked a condo in New Mexico. Its in Ruidoso and is right on the edge of the Lincoln National Forest. The condo sleeps 6 and is $75 a night. There are Merriams and Rios there and the success rate last year was right at 50%. I know this place is booking up pretty quickly. If you want more info Pm me and I will pass on a link. A NM non resident spring license with 2 turkey tags is $130. I booked the condo for 3 days so it will be a pretty affordable hunt.

there is lots of public land in Mt. Wy. S.D. and northwest NE. You can pitch a tent or bring an RV. All over the counter except S.D. and Ne. which are app. permits but unlimited I believe. The Black Hills N.F. is huge. Good Luck
