My buddy and I swapped a turkey hunt with an outfitter this spring. We built a deck in exchange for a 3 day turkey hunt. It was a blast! We concetrated our efforts in one particular area, but there were turkey all over the place.
My buddy shot nice Tom. I had my chances, blow one on the first day. Three toms came in and busted me while I was getting set up. They came in quick. I passed on the jakes! Had too.
Our first evening right before the roost, the toms were gobbling like crazy (15 differant gobblers). Got the coyotes howling and for about 20 minutes, they were back and forth at eachother from about 200 yards. Awesome, you don't hear things like that where I'm from.
The Ranch Manager and his wife were great, treated us like part of their family and we stayed in a nice cabin. Got told the best places to go and got a great tour of the place. Did some fishing and varmint hunting, great time. Check it out ------- hattonranch.com, you'll see my buddy's bird.
