App for long range shooting?
#1
I was watching a show where this guy had an app to calculate longer range shots. I couldn't see what it was, and they never discussed it. I looked for one at the app store, but nothing stood out to me.
Anyone use one?

Strelok Ballistic Calculator. Need a lot if info input into it, ballistic coefficient of bullet, muzzle velocity, rifle, scope, temp, elevation, etc. but once set up does a great job of giving info at any range. Also has a library of scope reticles and can give a graphic picture of where to hold.

He did ask for an app for long range shooting, not hunting. If I were hunting, I would stalk my way to the closest shot possible, or put my blind or stand in the best possible position. I don't equate long range shooting with hunting. For long range shooting (sport), I want all the information possible to make the best shot possible, and if an app can help me perfect my craft, I would use it. In hunting, I try and limit my shots to 100 yards or less. Just saying...
