Default cough silencer

has anybody used this product? I have missed a morning of turkey hunting because i knew i couldnt keep quiet in the woods. every spring i catch a horrible cough and it wont be over til late may. i hate this. last night i couldnt sleep til 3 am because i kept coughing. taking cough syrups and they never seem to work well enough to give me confidence to go out to the woods. thanks Pistol Pete

The Cough Silencer is your answer , I don't go out without mine .

It's sturdy made and works very well . Sportsman's Guide has them right now for $20 . I've used mine when deer were present without spooking them . When you change the cotton balls in it after each use you'll have to experiment with number and placement for best results , but I've had folks sit less than 3 feet from me and have trouble hearing me cough into it . I'm a 30 year ex-smoker , and I honk like a goose when I cough , so that's the best endorsement you're likely to get .

i think it works o.k. at best. mine doesnt stay together anymore and it was used maybe 2 times. from my own observation when you cough much of the sound comes from your neck and throat area . some of the sound comes out your mouth but not all. the cough silencer cuts that noise down but not the other. i tried coughing into my shoulder with a heavy winter jacket on and felt it did the same thing if not better. some one is probably rich[>:]

From all i could tell, worked the same as sticking your head inside your coat. To me its just another thing i have to carry around my neck and to get in my way.

I'm with Hunter9022 on this - I don't want more stuff hanging around my neck. If I'm sick with something that makes me cough a lot - I'll generally stay at home.
