Seen this particular climber in a catalog at a high price and from the picture looked very basic with hardly nothing to it, wondering if anybody has any experience with this climber or knows anything about it

back in 1990 I seen a Lone Wolf climber. a little heavy, cast alum. baseprice about $180.
I did'nt like heights in other climbers so I purchased it tryed it out first inpression was very sturdy. at last I felt very safe in a climber this is the stand I uses to this day 12 years later.
the only other stand I use is a alum. ladder stand I designed & built also very sturdy 16' to my feet
It may seem hi priced, I feel I got my money worth. the only thing I might do is up grade the v-bar to the rubber belt that goes aound the tree
hope this helps

I've heard they are VERY quiet because the entire platform is made from a single piece of aluminum. I don't know about the prices, but I was interested by the one piece construction.
Ya'know, I need to read more carefully. I just caught that you were asking about a CLIMBER. My comment was about their hang-ons. Sorry.
