trying to save a couple of bucks might be nice now but the steiners dont hold there value like Leica swarovski zeiss If you do buy steiners get a screaming deal on them get a used or refurbished set or shot show set you can get some great deals at swfa on steiners try www.samplelist.com good luck on any of the optics you get.

Do a quick search on the web, I've forgotten the site but I've seen them for $189 and that was a year ago. Plus the military/marine model can be found even cheaper if your look around a little.

I have the Predator 8x for hunting in Pa. They are perfect for the this area. I tried a 10x before making my purchase, but they were a bit to much for wooded areas. I belive the 10 and 12x would be better suited for the open areas of the western states.
