Where do you buy your gear?

I've been looking all over the internet for some good places to buy my gear. I was wondering if anyone had a good place other then your local brick and mortar shop that you have found some great prices.

RE: Where do you buy your gear?

I'd say I buy more at Cabelas than anywhere else. Their prices aren't bargain basement, but their service, efficiency and quality are top notch. I've dealt at various times with bargain places and sometimes they work out great. Other times, their web sites are confusing, shipping is uncertain, order fulfillment is inconsistent, and often quality of products is sometimes excellent, sometimes "you get what you pay for".

I guess one of the reasons I'm asking is I've bought a lot from ebay and it's always worked out but I was wondering if anyone else has found some places that might be as good or just a hidden gem.

I also buy from Cabelas, but I also buy from Sportman Guide. They have some very good prices and some great closeout stuff. I've been happy with everything I've purchased from them:

On the internet, I usually go to Cabela's or Bass Pro. There is not much difference in price, but I usually buy more hunting gear from Cabela's and more fishing gear from Bass Pro. MidwayUSA.com and eastcountyguns.com are both pretty good.

I also shop at Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops sometimes , but the majority of my gear has come from Sportsman's Guide . They usually have the best price , and even Cabela's couldn't top their customer service . They have the distinction of being the ONLY company that I've ever written a testimonial letter to .

i buy a lot of my gear on ebay, and just at local stores.

Cabelas, Bass Pro Shops, MidwayUSA, and Natchez Shooter's Supply get the bulk of my business. If you can't find what you are looking for at one of these four places, then it probably doesn't exist!

www.outdoorsuperstore.com is a great place, and they have good deals.

I own a business here and I make sure that my purchases are made locally to support the local economy. I'm really not willing to send my money to an out of state corporation. I may pay more for my gear but the satisfaction of doing business locally is worth it. I encourge all to loosen the wallet and buy locally.

If it's just something little, I go somewhere near where I live. But I make a few Cabela's trips a year so that's where I spend most of my $$. Plus my Cabelas card points help out quite a bit.

I agree with you about supporting local business. With shipping, it's rarely the case that mail order is a lot cheaper, but for me, it generally boils down to efficiency of finding what I need, not just saving some bucks. In the small city where I live, there's a lot of stuf that's just not available locally. Plus, a lot of the time I don't know if the thing I'm looking for is or isn't available locally and I can spend an hour driving from one store to another looking at what they have. I buy locally when ever practical though.

I will NEVER use local inventory to try something on and then order it mail order to save money. To me, that's just plain wrong because one of the things you're paying extra for (if indeed it costs more) is to be able to see, feel and try an item before purchasing.

I used Basspro or Cabela's usually. For my Camo clothing I usually wait until the season is coming to a close and go to Wally World. They mark stuff down.I have so much camo now it will be years until I need to buy anymore.Unless something catches my eye that I have to have.

I've bought from the usual, Cabellas, sportsmans guide etc. have also ordered from Keystone Country Store and Eders. They just opened a new Gander Mountain a little way from here so I've been by there as well.

Cabela's, Sportsmen's Warehouse locally. Bass Pro has never had the gear I'm looking for, I gave up on them years ago. For wool items my local thrift stores.

I go everywhere, local, cabelas, sportsmanguide, ebay. Just bought a TruFire Stealth Release from ebay, and am looking at new arrow rest on there too.

Try DnRSPORTS.com, they have limited selection, but great prices, good service.

I get my stuff at many places. Usually go by price, sometimes convenience. The majority of my stuff come from Cabelas. Other common shopping locals are Walmart, Gander Mt., Bass Pro, and sporting shows. I get any guns thru my gunsmith (sometimes at a gun show).

if you're in the market for a new gun, especially a Benelli you will not find a better price. I got a SBE new in the box for $995 inc shipping.

i have bought a lot of stuff from Galyans, guns, camo, tree stands, arrows, ammo, binoculars, etc etc etc they pretty much have anything i want without going overboard like the bigger places like bass pro or cabelas. i'm not a big fan of internet or mail order unless i am already familiar with the product i want to buy.
seem to always buy ammo at wal-mart.

When Gander Mountain had a catalog-I bought waterfowl gear from them but now they don't do catalog and there are no stores close by-fishing stuff at BassPro, clothes at my local stores, hunting accessories at Cabela's, and optics on line once I have researched what I want.

RE: Where do you buy your gear?

We buy most of our clothing from Ebay, it's just a better deal and you can get it new with tags and everything...

That's where I got mY "tigger suit" LOL my blaze camo...

We ordered our muzzie from Cabelas and for simple, small stuff we go to Gander Mtn because it's only 5 minutes from our house. As for some things, WalMart carries a ton of good quality stuff, like the Whisker Biscuit I got for my bow, I got it WAAAAY cheaper there than what I could have gotten it at Cabelas or Gander Mtn. For arrows we go to the local range, I bought 6 carbons from Gander Mountain this year and I got screwed. The dude said they would fly straight for my bow but they didn't. The worst part is, he even had me shoot two of them at their test range thing there and he said they would be fine. Yeah. Right. I thought I was getting a deal on a bundle of 6, but turns out I wasted money and ended up having to buy from the local archery store here, cost me a lot of money in the longrun... But that's okay because I got to choose the color of fletching I wanted and the arrows are perfect now... PINK AND PURPLE

Okay, that was a little longwinded for such a simple question, wasn't it? Sorry...

For my gun accessories I use either Midsouth or Natchez.I always go to Midsouth first. It's doesn't hurt to compare prices.Once Natchez had MS beat on a scope I was ordering.MS has excellent service and really fast delivery.

I like Cabelas and Bass pro but there are none close to me in Indy. Best thing close is Gander Mountain and I'm very happy with their selection.
