Well,

What I have learned is that if you hunt in an area that doesn't have a bunch of feed and there is a bunch of deer, such as certain parts of Texas.....a timed feeder helps you to bring the deer in at the times you are hunting due to it being a race to the feeder.

If you hunt in an area where there is plenty of feed in the woods and the deer are using your feeder as a candy station......these deer stay on their normal varying feeding times......the corn can hit the ground and they won't come until they are going to feed.

I thing that costs come into effect in these areas......

The feeder up above looks like a nice route to go.....you could also add on cans with "Y" traps to add time between filling.
