If you can find an outfitter to take you on the hunt but that may be pretty hard, Were you ever close to a full grown male Afirican lion?

Mountain Lion or African Lion? The answer is “yes” to both, but the implications of each vary significantly.

May be yes But in my opinion if anybody would dare to do that then he should use a bowie knife after arrow.

The odds are it wouldn't be the hunter with the bow that kills the lion, it would be the PH with his rifle. The PH's have a responsibility to not get their hunter killed and if the lion did not go the other way after being stuck with an arrow the PH would drop it, he doesn't want to get mauled either. Lions can run a long way and do serious damage even when dead on their feet.

well honestly this again is a topic that answers are easy to find if one looks online
and sine the OP diodn't state what TYPE of LION< that makes it impossible to really answer here

BUT in the general answer is YES< you can HUNT Lions with a BOW
and YES it can BE done safely and efficiently, if the shooter follows the basic's to make clean kills on dangerous game animals!
folks kill much larger and just as dangerous animals with BOW
S all the time, problem free! and HAVE done so since archery tackle has been about!
can there be BAD outcomes, YUP sure can, but that can happen with rifles too if were being honest!

If I was the PH, ID want to see the potential bow hunter put 3 consecutive arrows in a 4" circle at 50 yards in under 10 seconds before ID consider letting the hunt continue
thats certainly an obtainable level of skill. and consistency
Id rather prefer to not have to get into a hands on ,and at arms length, personal
discussion about the flaws in any archers skills with a totally pissed off lion.
benelli-m3-super-90 might be a nice back-up

I watched a video that showed a guy taking a huge grizzly bear with a bow at close range. Not something I would dare to do. No way with a lion either.
