Default Safe Locked

I have a digital Winchester safe. The keypad is non responsive except a click and single flash about every 10 seconds on its own. I’ve tried 2-3 Duracell batteries and still nothing. Anybody experience this?

I have a Browning safe with an electronic key pad, what happened to yours sounds like what happened to mine a couple of years ago. Something broke that releases the lock and I could not get in. I called a good locksmith and they put an new key pad in and it is working fine. It was the part that makes the click after you enter the correct number and allows you to turn the handle to throw the bolts open.

Consider having a good locksmith check it out for peace of mind. I had a mechanical safe (Cannon) seize up and it was not a comfortable feeling having my guns inside with no access to them. Made me glad I don't use just 1 safe and keep my EDC guns separate.

That's also a great thing - to have a contact of a good locksmith. I know locksmiths in our area, and when I have some issues with my doors, I always ask them for the help ( here their site: https://emergencylocksmithvancouver....tions/burnaby/ ), and get all the necessary technical help in the shortest terms.

I would still have it checked out. One day you may want to get a gun out on the first day of hunting season or for an important reason and it mal functions again.

I'm with OT and Cal on this one. Yeah, you'll pay for a housecall from the locksmith but you'll have peace of mind and he can make sure there isn't anything else wrong with your safe while he's there. Most importantly like OT said, it could make a huge difference if you need a gun now and have to wait for a locksmith to arrive.

One other thing to consider, my gun safe goes into lockdown for fifteen minutes if an incorrect combination is entered 4 times
