Muck boots suck....
at least for cold weather...
I bought a pair of Muck Fieldblazer they are ok in the early bow season although your feet do tend to sweat in them and they stink.. In the colder months anything under 40 your feet will get cold and they well sweat when you walk in them which is worse.. I had heard all the Muck hype for years so shelled out $130 for a pair. I wish I had bought something else..Since I bought them many other companies have come out with similar styles bur much better design.. anyone want a pair of used mucks size 10 $50 you pay shipping as well.. I do take pay pal...lol |
I know a lot of folks who wear Muck boots. I bought a pair of Cabelas boots because I did not think the neoprene would hold up where I hunt. A suggestion, buy yourself a set of Peet boot dryers and when you take the boots off, stick them on the drier overnight. I have the same problem with moisture with my neoprene chest waders, and even the rubber ones before I bought neoprene and I found the driers are the way to go, not damp when you put them on and no stink caused by boots being put away damp.

while i don't agree "muck boots suck" i will say they are better suited to bird hunting for me as they aren't great to walk in for long distances but that should be fairly obvious as they're based on a rubber boot platform. seemed fairly obvious to me but i guess some people expect the world of everything they buy.
ps... who in the world is going to buy OP's boots after he just admitted he sweats like a fiend in them and they stink? lmao |
Who would buy used boots period!

Well we should have a lot of testimonials
and no testimonials this year, after this year's cold weather.

I just bought a pair of laccrosse 1000 gram insulated rubber boots, and anything under 20° my feet get cold after a couple hours, even with the chemical insole heaters in there and a pair of liner socks under my thick Underarmour hunting socks. I just think rubber boots aren't meant for cold weather, no matter how pricey or how much thinsulate they pack in them.

sitting in a stand this season for 10 hours over 2 days brought me to my breaking point. after the 2nd day i went immediately shopping on my way home and picked up a pair of 800 gram irish setter deer tracker boots. i'm wondering how i lived without them now. terrific boot straight out of the box! |
I love my muck boots:confused0024:

ANY rubber boots are NOT going to be the warmest !!!
Look for pac boots ! http://www.sorel.com/mens-intrepid-e...5%3As&start=20 |
Pac Boots would be ideal, but at least for me, I have to cross a stream that's a foot deep to get to one of my spots. Rubber boots are needed until it freezes over enough to walk across
|
boots! yes!
never wore rubber boots, in my mind they're going to fail eventually right? I've had the timberland pro wellington waterproof boot for two season now. these are by far my favorite all around multipurpose boots Ive ever had. i know they will last me a lifetime. and they fit my routine, which when deer hunting is normally long hikes through snow. i wouldn't buy muck, i'm sure they're a quality boot in the right situation. |

Look for pac boots ! http://www.sorel.com/mens-intrepid-e...5%3As&start=20 To me its hard to beat a simple pair of $100 muck boots for 8 months of the year here in Western Illinois. Even in the other 4 months the muck boots don't get a fair shake as I bought them to fit without heavy socks and they are the wrong size to really be tested in sub freezing weather. Its tough to stay comfortable all year long in any one pair of boots IMO but my muck boots keep me comfortable more months of the year than any other boot Ive ever owned I think. |
I bought mine near new at the local swap meet for $5 bucks. Clearly not made for long cold stands but great for around camp and launching my boat at ramp is busy and have to get feet wet. When deployed to Alaska i saw parents buy them for their kids almost like schools shoes. Extra Tuffs during the warmer months and Muck Boots in cooler.

I am no expert on Muck boots since I only have two pairs of them, but they do the job. I like them.

Went with those hard rubber heavy insulated boots
And they were discounted too. And the heavy worked with the pre-season hikes that cost nothing.
Always thought neoprene was good for ocean divers. I'm just a cheap hunter. |
Love my Muck boots. Very comfortable. If your feet are getting cold w/the Fieldblazers, you probably need the Woody Max, Woody Elite, or Arctic Pro. Once it gets below freezing, I'll put on a pair of toe warmers and I'm good to go.

I'm cheap
I just went for older heavy insulated rubber boots.
The pre-season walks and hikes are necessary. But I never thought hunting was suppose to be easy. But then I also battle older age. I don't do those thirty day miracle workouts. |
I'm partial to Lacrosse Alpha Burly's myself, my first pair did fail me, but it took four years+, comfortable for walking too. I've got friends who love their Muck's. I wouldn't wear either in the winter, though.
