I am about like most of the rest of us. I fall for the hype every now and then. However, I am old school ... well I am old for sure. I cannot attest to cammo even being essential for deer hunting. For a decade or so I never used a cammo pattern. Just dar, woodsy colored stuff .... brown, green, green-black plaid, etc. I think that it helps ... and is almost a must when hunting turkey. Does it need to match .... not in my opinion.

I have been hunting for quite a number of years and to this day I till dont own a set of camo. Asthe guys said, as long as you wear drk clothes and dont stick out like a sore thumb, your ok. I also believe it a fad, just like camo'ing a gun. I believe our hunting practices help a lot more than camo.

I think that Camo, when used for Turkey's is a great idea.
However, for Deer, I think that careful movement, or lack of is a far better camouflage than whatever I might wear. I have been known to wear dark colored jeans and a blaze orange shirt during deer season.
I do prefer camo for waterfowl as well, though.

I would bet most of the people here have shot a deer during gun season within bow range while wearing blaze orange, and that pretty much says it all. Turkey, however, are a completely different story, imho. And no, it doesn't have to match--it's camo, it will blend in with other camo.
