Default Tracking Devices

Has anyone had successful experience with any tracking device?

I tried an infrared one years ago and it was worthless.

Blood trails sometimes run out, at least to the naked eye. I was hoping something better was available.

Buddy had one of these infrared devices. It was a joke. We tried to "find" a 5 gallon bucket filled scalding hot water in 40F temperature ... and did once we got within about 10'.

Bluestar blood tracking spray, i was skeptical till i finalyl had to use it last friday. Lets just say I had two of my buddies throw in money to buy it in bulk. It worked awesome, lti up the blood in pitch black and we tracked easily 150 yards more then we would have without it.

What kind of light did you use with it?

I have seen those multicolored lights sold as tracking devices.
