SHOT Show
I just spent two days at the convention center in Orlando at the SHOT Show. I case anyones never heard of it, it's the Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade Show. The convention center is one mile long under one roof and there was over 1900 vendors displaying their products and showcasing products that are new for 2009. Show attendance is limited to people in the business and the press. I was able to get in because my buddy owns BrightSpot Archery, he makes lighted fiber optics for 3-D scopes.
I'll just hit onsome of my favoritesotherwise I'd be writing for the next month.

Perrazzi shotguns - I picked up and handled a set of four double barrel shotguns which are valued at over $430,000. http://www.perazzi.com/Pages/en_perazzi_usa.aspx
Havalon knives - If you've never seen these they're awesome. They take replaceable scalpel blades, great for skinning and caping. I bought their Piranta knife. http://www.havalon.com/index.html
Outdoor Edge - I already own their folding caping knife and I bought a pair of game shears from them today. Quality knives at an affordable price, they use AUS8 steel in most knives. They're the ones who make the swingblade knife. http://www.outdooredge.com/
Limbsaver - I really liked their one piece quiver, so they gave me one. They also gave me a Dead Center Micro Sight for my shotgun and I got a prefit recoil pad for my Rem 700 for only $20. http://www.limbsaver.com/
PSE - They have an X-bow that attaches to an AR-15 lower, it's called the TAC-15. 412 fps with a 425 grain bolt and over 150 ft-lbs KE. http://www.pse-archery.com/pdf/09_TAC_15_Flier.pdf
Bowtech - I couldn't shoot anything but I finally got to handle the Admiral, Captain and the Iceman. http://www.bowtecharchery.com/
Ross - The Carnivore looks really interesting. If it's as smooth as they say it just might do the trick for us older guys with wore out shoulder, I want to try one. http://www.huntwithross.com/
Hoyt - I NEED to go try the Alphamax. http://www.hoyt.com/
Tetra Gun - Simply the best oil and grease on the market, imho. Steel treated with this stuff just won't rust, after you apply it you wipe it off so that nothing is oily. http://www.tetraproducts.com/products.asp
ASAT Camo - I need to buy one of their lightweight leafy camo suits for hunting here in Florida, I love the pattern and it should make you disappear under any condition. http://www.asatcamo.com/
I also got to meet Tom Knapp the trick shooter, Jim Scouten, Russ Kommer the custom knife maker and the Duck Commanders.
All in all it was a great time. I met lots of interesting people and I got to preview many great products, not to mention all of the catalogs I collected and several free hats and t-shirts.

Just a little good publicity for Limbsaver. I bought a pre-fit recoil pad for my Remington 700, my gun's so old that the pad didn't fit. I called them today and asked if I could send it back and trade it for one that fit's my 870. Instead they're going to mail me the new one along with a shipping label for the one I have. When I asked ifshe wanted me to send the old one back firstshe told me that it wasn't necessary that they'll trust me to send it back. My hats off to Limbsaver and Stephany in their customer service department.
