Scent life expectancy??

I was wondering how long I could/should use the scent lures I have? I have them in Tink's bottles. They are actually 3 years old now, but I have only used them 5 times (with no results). The bottles have been sealed and then placed inside another larger bottle (all the same scent).

I believe the shelf life is 1 year assuming proper storage methods are used. Light breaks down the scent which is why they are kept in dark bottles. I believe the shelf life can be prolonged if you refrigerate it. I try not to over buy scent and buy it the week I plan on using it.I usuallydiscard the small qty leftover scents from the previous year.

Your scent company's will tell you from 2 weeks to one season. I'm sure if it is real fresh deer urine it has a very short shelf life before it looses it's effectiveness. But who wants to throw out a $10.00 bottle of sent?

My brother took a monster buck last year using a Myles Keller "Hot Doe" gel scent from probably 6 or 7 years ago. Most of them will stay somewhat good as long as they're kept out of heat and sunlight. I usually buy new every year though.
