My Slick Tricks just helped me fill my doe tag this weekend. 35 yards bedded down insome downed timberwith about a 10" window to put the arrow through. No problem. She did a 40 yard dash and dropped, and that 4 blade hole going through hersure looked nasty.

Rage's are absolutely awesome! always open on entry and exit. huge holes, awesome blood trails, if you need it!, and quick kills. not to mention no fustrating broadhead tuning.

Rage's are not absolutely awesome, and they do not ALWAYS open on entry and exit. Nomechanical head works in 100% of situations. That's why I went back to fixed blades. The blades are ALWAYS out and ready to cut.

And no fixed blade works 100% of the time either. Plenty of sob stories out there regarding shed/broken blades, little or no blood trail, and heads that won't fly worth a darn.
I've seen video of a Spitfire being shot through a water filled balloon-and it fully opened. I think this whole issue of mechs not opening is much like the monster under the bed when I was kid.I wasscared of it, but it really doesn't exist.:D

I used hell razors (similar to Montech’s) last year and I took a small buck at 31 yards, arrow flew great hit right where I needed to. A blind man could have followed that trail…

Picked the arrow up took home and re sharpened, will use again this year. How many times can you reuse a mechanical? I have never used them so I am asking not bashing?

The hell razors did get good reviews from most; I didn’t even tune my bow with them.

With fixed heads just made sure they shoot okay and keep them sharp and you should be good to go.

Oh that was the first deer I have even taken with a bow and it felt great!

These slick tricks I may give a try of I find some extra cash…

I used mechanicals for several years with the confidence that they would open as designed. I only used the "top" models and brands, the ones that were supposed to be the best including Rage and Spitfire. After three failed to open on entry and hadno pass through (leaving only an enter hole the diameter of the arrow, thus a pittiful blood trail) I decided that at the very least with fixed blades I would always have a large entry hole even if they don't pass through. This can make a huge difference. I've found that with my bow, Slick Tricks shoot as good as any mechanical I've ever used and they are tough as heck.

I've used Muzzy 100 gr 3-blade heads. Fly awesome, very durable, and penetrate great.
