RE: HAND HELD GPS

Really depends on what all you will be using it for. I bought the Summit HC right after Christmas and I absolutely love it. I bought it because I am going to Colorado in the fall Elk hunting and I wanted to learn how to use it. My Father in Law has an older Garmin 76s or something that is to complicated for a Phd canidate so I was worried that I would have issues. I took it out of the box and have never looked back. It is very simple to use and I like the usb connection. I have google earth and I can upload my waypoints to it and see them on a aerial map. I am very pleased with it.

RE: HAND HELD GPS

I have a eTrex legend. I used it last deer hunting for the frist time. I like it because it let me find a spot that I could not find in 3 years. this one has road maps on it when you buy it and you can update it free. All of the garmin had free updates if you reg. online.
