New Summit products for 2003
Hey guys,
I feel very special today, I received the newest Summit brochure displaying some fine new models, along with a fine new Summit Hat!
Summit is now playing my tune. I absolutely love my Viper and will continue to use it for mobility. However I also own 10 or so lock on stands and climbing sticks. Most of the stands are Gorilla and the sticks are from all manufactures.
They are finally hitting the lock on stand market hard. They will be intruducing 3 new models of lock on stands all with a retail of $100 or less estimated. These stands feature a brand new method of attatching to the tree. Since I have not seen this in my hands, I cannot comment on the ease. However after speaking with a Summit rep via email and looking at the flyer, I must say that I am impressed. After I get one of these models I will be able to give the full review.
Also they will be introducing something that really excites me.....a new climbing method. As a lot of you know I have tried nearly everything and currently like the API quick sticks best, however that may all change as soon as I touch the new Bucksteps. This product is revolutionary! They are very light sticks that strap to the tree in separate sections. Yeah I know that this is not too different, however the foot placement looks great. You can even have both feet on the same section while trying to attach the stand! There are many manufactures that have something like this, but these look really good. They also only weigh 10LBS for four sections and lock into each other for easy carrying, something that is not so simple for most of my other stick ladders.
So far from the brochure and from speaking with the rep I must give Summit a thumbs up. After I touch and use we will know for sure!
