Default Which GPS is better

I went on ebay to find a handheld GPS and ended up winning two items that I bid on. I am going to keep one and sell one. I bought the Magellan explorist 200 and a Carmen etrex.

Does any body have these and which would you recommend that I keep?

Thanks

I have no experience with the Megellan but did start out with the Garmin Etrex (little yellow one). It didn't having mapping but IMOmost thefeatures I need for hunting, fishing, etc. Extremely easy to use. I have sinceupgraded to the GarminVista for the electronic compass feature and it does have mapping capabilities as well.

IME Garmin have excellent power consumptionall on2 x AA's.

I'd try both out then pick the one that suit your fancy best.

Best of luck.

It says thatit has the ability to map and save.

It says that it has track back capabilities.

Was I lied to, or are there different types of etrex? This is alittle yellow one.

longisland, Etrex is the name but many different models. The basic etrex has no mapping features(meaning load in road or topo maps for reference when using the GPS),but youcan map a route(save routes)and back track with them. I am unsure about all the current garmin models and colours for that matter, so whether it is the basic (yellow) etrex or another model I have no clue. Since you bought it already wait till it arrives and the box will tell you the model/features. Or contact the seller about the exact modelyou purchased.

Hope that helps!

I have a Garmin eTrex Vista and it has been excellent for the two years I have owned it. Garmin maps are a little more detailed and smaller but just choose whichever one has the features you are actually going to use.

I have a Garmin eTrex Legend that has worked out very well for me. You can download detailed topographical and other types of maps made of different regions of the country.
Ibought the black and white model2 1/2 years ago for $190. Now I've even seen them on sale at Target no less for $150.
The color (display) model is more of course. Nicetool.
