Thinking about trying a summit goliath x5 this year. Any pros and cons on summit stands? Anyone using them that likes or don't like them? Any input will be greatly appreciated..

Anthony,
I have the Summit Goliath stand, used it over 50 timeslast season and plan on using it again this season. I love the stand. It's very roomy (especially if your a big man), strong, extremely quiet, and very easy to climb the tree with. As far as comfort, I may have taken a nap or twowhile in the stand
, its that comfortable! The only issue is getting the correct angleon the stand at the bottom of the tree so it's thecorrect when you get to your hunting height. And that will come with practice! The stand is a little cumbersome to pack into the wood due to is size, but I'll live with that to have the all the other advantages I have already stated.

I have the Summit Revolution (now discontinued) and I am very satisfied with it. It is a bit heavier and bulkier than their standard sit and climbs (Goliath, Viper, etc...) but the comfort level is superb. I would not trade it for another stand on the market.

I have a Goliath that I purchased a couple of years ago. I absolutely love it. Being a big guy, it's nice having the extra room to move around and becomfortable. I have used the Viper as well, and it works, but it's nice to have the extra room.
It is the best climber of the 3 I have owned. The only negative to it is that the paint seems to flake off rather easily.
Good luck.

I put my big butt in the goliath ever chance I get. It's great, only drawback is getting back together after your out of the tree but that just takes practice. Also, I added the plastic stirrups that fit on the foot rest and that makes climbing it alot easier and you can also start at steeper angles.

I have the bullet from x-mas. I haven't use it in the field yet. But playing with it, I'm concern of noise on the standing platform. Not to hijack this, but how does it perform in the field withall of you that have used it?
