Moultrie Game Camera 3.1
what's everyone's opinion on these game camera's? i have heard nothing but good things so far and the price is right. i want the cuddeback 3.0 but i can't swing the money for it. however i can swing the money for the moultrie 3.1. is this camera any good? how is the shutter speed? i don't want a camera where it only catches the back half of the deer on a trail (illegal to bait here, so i can not throw out bait to get them to stop), i need a digital that will catch them while walking by.

Cuddeback is the fastest trip time of all the trail cameras out today so far. But the Moultrie is the second fastest. I use the moultrie 1.3 and not used the 3.1 yet but I would set up on a trail facing north or south and facing straight up the trail of the deer coming into the camera. Setting up east or west will fool the camera into tripping fausely with the rising or setting sun. Also, if you can't bait, put out a scent dripper about 20 feet in front of the camera. That may help stop a buck for a moment. Good luck.

I have 2 of the 3.1's. I have only used them on feeders at this point and am well pleased. Can't offer much info on trigger time & trigger consistency as it's not critical as I have used them. If you do decide to go with the moultrie, get the solar panel. I had my cams in the field for 15 days. They took 104 & 114 pics, at least half at night, and the battery still showed to be fully charged.

Here is my first pic from my Moultrie 200. I had it out for 3 weeks and this is the only picture on it. I don't know if it missed a bunch or if this just happened to be the only deer to come by. He's a good one. Hope to see him again next year. I moved the camera to a different spot and put it just above my homebrew camera to see if the moultrie does miss pics.
