Just curious...does anyone have any experience with a Simmons Whitetail Expedition scope?
There's a 1.5-6x32 on clearancethat I'm thinking would look pretty good on a Marlin 336.
Thanks, wise HuntingNet readers!

Buy them while you can. They are identical to the Aetec and probably one of the best scopes for the money. I had a WTE that I wish I never sold. It was the same as the Aetec I have now. The best thing about it is Simmons will stand behind it.

I tried one out when looking for scopes for my .17HMR. Really nice scope for the money. I think the one I looked at was a 4-16x40 or 44 with an adjustable objective. It was $200 at cabela's.
That's a pretty decent price for a varmint scope, especially for how good it looked at 100 yards on full power. They have since discontinued them. I think they are the dedign the aetec's are based on. I had to get a scope for twice the money to better it in optics.
If you can find a deal on one I would grab it if it fits your needs. I wouldn't mind having another one in a 3-9 power or something for my muzzle loader.

For your Marlin it would be a nice scope. My cousin bought one when they first came out and put it on his 338 Win. Mag. It lasted about 40 rounds before the crosshairs fell out. He sent it off & received a replacement. He mounted the replacement on a 270 Win. and it has been there ever since with no problems.

Well, I waited too long. Sierra Trading Posthad them for $80, but by the time I got home and tried to place an order, they were sold out.
Serves me right for waiting too long...should've just gone ahead and jumped on it when I had the chance!
