well that is usually true, if you raise them right you should be happy with them...but then again they can grow up andbe know as "the angel of deth!!"

You can raise them however you want, but you never can tell when one will snap. Through hundreds of years, this breed was bred to fight and be fearless. You can't unteach what comes naturally. I work ER's and I could tell you lots of stories about hand-raised pits that just seem to lose it. Usually it's a kid that suffers from their parents ignorance.

ares is a big baby!!!! never had it even growl at anyone.and is scared of even cats..(lol)rides in the back of my truck goes to football games.etc.the pedigree of the dogi got was bredstrictly forhog huntingdown south. i wouldnt buy anormal off the street pit though.
FACT dalmations bite 3 times as many people as pits do!!!
pits are actually on the lower end of scale but because they have such a strong bite,if they do attack someone everyone will know it.
i hope this helps. be cautious and buy from a GOOD breeder. not a joe shmoe off the street and you should be just fine... but sleep with one eye open..(JUST KIDDING)

I don't have mine anymore, live in a trailer park and they wouldn't allow it. The pit I had was also bred for hog hunting. He was an awesome dog until one day he jumped on another male pit pup that a friend had over. They are great dogs, but I'd watch them closely. It is in their breeding to be fearless and aggressive towards other animals. Not people. absolutely love the breed as a whole. To me they are the most dog you're gonna get in a 40-50lb package.
