Purebred= junky dog in my opinion. My dog will smoke any purebred out there. I once killed8 rabbits and my dag killed 5 in 2 hours. Now that was a good day. THe only day that beats that is 4 rabbits, 2 ringnecks, a turkey in the afternoon, and 2 squirrels.

BEagle hunting is alot of work. Hundreds of hours are spent training them. Some of the best dogs i got were free or very cheap. Expensive dogs tend to be slow and not hunters. My dog line is the bigger beagle, with a big chest and shoulders. My one dog is probably close to 38 pounds. If i run her alot she goes down to about 28. But then she smokes them. THey are hauling the mail.
Is this a joke? "Some of the best dogs you got were free or very cheap" and "expensive dogs tend to be slow and not hunters"

That 2nd comment istotal ignorance!

Another comment to show how dedicated you are to the sport. You're right buddy, purebred dogs are junk Only thing I'll 'agree' w/ you on, which you didn't say, is that papers don't run a rabbit, the dog does. I've owned and hunted w/ many a grade dog that could burn a rabbit up, but to make a comment like you did, again... total ignorance, or arrogance.
