Some counties in Texas have bounties on wild hogs. Problem is the bounties were authorized after wild hogs got out of control.

We have a few cougars here in OK: Maybe they are transient: i've only seen two. Killed one that was sitting on the bank about 20 yards away watching me track a wounded hog. Have found a couple of their kills, a deer and a big hog.

Eastern OK has a very healthy population of black bears. i imagine they often dine on wild pork.

The CA wild hog situation probably got much worse in about 1957 after the legislature declared them game animals. Prior to that legislation anyone could kill wild hogs at any time, no license required.
