Snaring wild hogs, especially in hot weather, is not the way to go. i will not use snares for wild hogs. Snares often catch animals other than the ones targeted.
We stopped trapping hogs last month due to the heat. In 90 degree heat a hog can easily die within 12 hours. Our traps all had containers of water and were in the shade. One 200 pound boar hog drank six gallons of water in about 20 hours: So we quit trapping.
