Default Texas Helicopter Hog Hunting

Texas has officially made it legal as of September first to hunt/eradicate hogs from a helicopter. So now land owners can rent out seats in helicopters to willing hunters to help solve their hog problems. I personally think it is about time. But what do the rest of think about this new law?

Cheapest two seater helo costs $400-600 per hour with driver. If you want to take your buds in a four seater the charge is at least $3,500 per hour.

I think it's a great way to eradicate a lot of hogs. And if you like killing stuff, it might appeal to you. But hovering over animals and shooting at them until they quit moving has nothing to do with hunting.

I will kill a hog anyway I can, trap, shoot ,chase with a dog,the more the better. I don't necessarily eat all I kill,we have too many hogs and somebody has to get the numbers down. I put them in the class as rats.Chuck

Why do I see someone hanging out of a helicopter firing a weapon (probably semi-auto with a big magazine) as a really big recipe for disaster?

Hogs are a plague ,the ranches that do this are huge, they have had a hog problem for years, this works, they have been doing it for years and I don't recall anybody getting hurt hunting hogs from the air.Its not hunting for the sport its to rid an area of a varment so you can produce a product. I would rather run all over these ranches with the areial hog hunting going on than spend time on the streets NJ with out my guns.
