Eating Texas Dall Sheep

Hi folks,

I'm new here and know nothing about hunting. I manage a ranch in Bandera and there are a few of Dall sheep (1 ram, 3 ewes) that we need to either re-home or eat.

We need to first decide if they're tasty and then we can figure out a plan of action.

We're not sure how old they are, but they are probably between 2 and 3 years old.

What do y'all say? Should we fire up the BBQ?

well, if they aint your pets, they could be food. if they were someones pet, well....

Anything on four legs is edible, now if it’s tasty is another story. Yes, they will eat fine, but I prefer pit cooking them in the ground much like Barbacoba. Do a search no it, if you can’t find any information pm me.
Good luck.

What are you calling Dall Sheep down in Texas? Audads by chance?

Do they look like this?

Texas Dall are a cross between Moulfon and Ramuilet. You could load them up and take them to the RAZ auction in Harper. I don't think they will eat very well. Audad are a whole different beast. My son guides hunts for them. They are so nasty the Mexicans won't eat them. REV that looks like a moulfon cross of some kind.
