Where to hunt in Texas
#2
Might look into hunting the Candian River Area. I know you can hunt it and that pigs have been seen, but I don't know how many are in there. Also you could try the red river down towards Childress and Vernon Area, and some of the other public land down there. It's about a 3 hour drive to get there though, but I know theres pigs down there, not sure how much is public but I know that the rivers are.

You could spring for $48 for APH from the TPWD. That gives you access to certain public lands and leased lands that you wouldn't get other wise. They give you a book with those lands and the game and non-game animals you can hunt. I know some people who are happy with that.
One WMA area that is down the road from you is Matador. I went on a turkey hunt there earlier this year and saw some hogs. I'm not sure if they have hog hunting, but a some of the WMAs do.
