I have a 30/30 and did think about using that. I'm putting a Nikon Pro Staff on it. My next step it to select a good bullet; I suppose bullet selection isn't that critcal for head and neck shots at close range. I'm more interested in a very accurate bullet.

I put a Nikon BDC 3x9x40 on my 30-30 and of course it drops them in thier tracks. The new round Hornady came up with gave me an extra 100yds and is accurate. Don't know about knock down at 200yds but it's dead on
