Likewise. Trees are the easiest solution. But I'm guessing you don't have that option. Fortunately, all my best hog feed sites are in hardwood creek bottoms and plenty of good heavy braches to hang a pulley and rope from.

Just make sure you hang them high enough to keep to keep the neighbors cows that got out from busting the slinger off to get feeder to dump all the corn, as seen here on my feeder!!!

I almost shot this cow for doing this, glad I didn't though...

You are Correct. Our lease is primarily planted pines and some cypress heads. We do not have good oaks to hang a feeder from.

We use hog panels around all of our feeders, usually about 10-14 16' panels in a circle around your feeder will do the trick if they are secured properly... They will still eat around the edge of your pen but they wont be running your deer off or tearing up your feeder anymore, heres a pic....

I feel your pain there brother. Rope snapped on one of my "tree-hanging"systems and demolished the $40 Moultrie feeder and barrel. Expensive lesson learned. Do not use cheap cotton rope! Nylon or poly only!
