Do you really want wild hogs in your state?
They are a major league destructive force in nature, they will multiply like rabbits, they eat everything in sight up to and including fawns. They will change the landscape, have you ever seen what a piece of ground looks like when hogs have been rooting around? It looks like someone roto-tilled it up.They will change the drainage of wetlands and compete with native wildlife for food sources and they will win.If you don't have them, don't wish for them they are a plague once they take a hold and danged hard to erradicate.

but isn't that one of the reason we want to hunt them?

It shows in other states that hunting will not control the hog problem. As much as I like to hunt, and would like to hunt hogs, keep them out of wisconsin. They have been proven to be predators on fawns, rabbits, and numerous game-bird chicks.

Maybe so Alabama Yankee but the fact remains they are a plague that will only get out of control EVEN with hunting if they are not native to any area they become a HUGE problem.Research it a little and see if I'm blowing smoke or not,I love to hunt anything, been hunting all my life but just as important to me is the health and well being of the lands that I hunt and wild hogs ARE NOT good for the land and native wildlife. They are a nuisance and should be shot, trapped, snared and in general killed off in areas where they don't belong.

Fair enough. I know here in my area they are extremely limited (east central AL), but further south I've heard they really tear up the WMA's.

and I was sort of trying to be a little funny....sry.

if you go to the wi dnr's website there's a map that shows where hogs have been seen in Wisconsin, we have them mostly on the west side of the state, they aren't very prevalent yet though...hopefully they won't take hold in our state. But I would love to go to Tennessee or somewhere and hunt them!
