Awesome little porker! That is on my list of animals to harvest this year (2009).

Congrats!

Jake
It was on my list to harvest last year and I missed on a spot and stalk[:@]

We were going too go again this year, but I was told they aren't doing the Texas Shoot-Out [&o]

Nice Javi!
Hey BigJim,

What is the Texas Shootout?
Jake
The Texas Shootout is by far one of the coolest hunts I have ever been on. There are anywhere between four to five hundred people that show up for a five day javelina, hog, predators, and varmint hunt. It's bow only and located on the Challaghan Ranch which is about 92,000 acres. Everyone camps in tents or campers and you get to hunt anywhere you want. Basically everyone baits the senderos and try to spot and stalk them. They are a challenge. I went with a good friend and we met up with three other buddies down there. It's cool cause at the end of the day, even if you didn't shoot anything, you get to come back and look at everyone else's stuff.

Here is some more info on it. Rumor is they aren't doing it anymore

Hey I agree with m.t. hands, Congrat's on the Hunt & Kill , but I don't think I would want to eat that awful smelly critter.

Excellent. Did you clean it? Did anyone tell you about the musk gland?

Great job.

The shoot-out was a great hunt. It is canceled because some jackass shot a deer and caped it out! 2009 was going to be the 30th annual. It is truly a sad deal because for $175 you couldn't find a better hunting time. It only takes one dumb ass to ruin it for 500+ other people.
