Default rattlesnakes

I dont know if this is the right forum for this question or not. Anyways, we go rattle snake hunting every year. I wanted to butcher some this year. Can anyone tell me how far back to cut the head off to make sure I get all of the venom out?

Ive had rattle snake at Sweatwater and it tasted so much like chicken, id rather just buy chicken and keep the rattle snake skin for backing bows.

well I cut the rattlesnake right behind the head...I didnt die but I wish I woulda knew about the 4 inch thing before I cut it...the worst part was the first time i tried to stick the knife into the stomach the snake swung around and popped me...luckily I knew to cut the head off first...scared the hell out of me though
