Hum, looks like a dangerous site to respond to. I live in NW Missouri and am looking to go pig hunting also for the first time. I'm overseas till June and would like to go when I return. You say Mark Twain was OK to hunt at? I was looking for something closer than Tx also. Be gentle, I'm new here.

My brother has some transit hogs on his place in south central okieland not too far from Tishamingo. If they ever set up permanant residence on our land I will travel to help thin them out.If he starts seeing alot of them I may ask if he would be willing to bow hunters in for a reasonable fee! He may nave some land he would lease for deer...I'll stir him up about that,he has leased to muzzle loaders before! We have killed some 200lbs. hogs and 150 class deer on the land!

My hunting life started in the spring of 2007. I was fortunate enough to harvest my first animal in the fall of 2007 during the firearm deer season in Missouri. I harvested my first Wild Hog. She weighed 300 pounds on the hoof and 275 field dressed. I took her at 9.75 yards with a 30-06 to just below the right ear for a headshot. She came back from the butcher with about 130 pounds of meat. I am having the head mounted. I have pictures for those who wish to see her.
