Hog everywhere
 

I went out Sat. afternoon to tag my last doe. I took out my recurve, since I had been ignoring it this season. Well, no deer, but man the hogs were everywhere. I ran them off all afternoon. Right before dark, I decided there was not going to be any deer, so I found a nice small hog and put an arrow in it. Now mark my words, once im done with the deer and go looking for hogs, i wont find them. :D

Thats the way it usually works.

Go hog hunting and all ya see is deer, go deer huntin and all ya see is hogs[8D]

That happened to me this year dove hunting at the Brazos. No doves, but lots of hogs, and I'm standing there with only 71/2 bird shot.

Hey, have you seenole Rocky Strickland. His brothergot a jobfor some gas company, has a cushy job, now that's an oddity!It's hard to say Strickland and job in the same sentence :D:D...

I know what you mean Kent. I have more hogs on my lease now than ever before. I've decided that if I see a hog while deer hunting I will rapidly switch gears to hog hunting.

We have the same problem. Also when we try to hog hunt before the season we usually have deer everywhere.

I'm right outside Van Zandt County in Terrell (Kaufman County, TX)....wish someone would let me know where I can have a good chance at a hog around here! I keep having to travel to Freestone County in Teague, Tx to hunt pigs...can't find anyplace around here to hunt. Even went up to Ladonia/Wolfe City area and never saw a pig anywhere. Any help would be appreciated!

My dog bagged another one this afternoon. It was a nice bonus after I guided a successful deer hunt.:D

Hey forget trueghst! We're your buddies, he's just a want to be buddy :D:D:D:D... Don't let him hunt over OUR feeders, you know the ones we didn't put up, or the ones we didn't buy corn for.

Oh, buy the way Greg. I have a stand I build out of unistrut doubled on the legs, not the green, the mill finish. It's too heavy to tote around and I don't have a place to put it up. So if you'd like next time we come out I'll bring it, but we need to drive close so I can unload it and put it up. It's yours if you want it. It's 10 feet and strong enough to put a tank on it. I'll bring out some straps to secure it.

Yeah and then you're gonna want me to invite you to sit in it every weekend I bet! Just lets don't put it up anywhere near the ravine. (bar ditch) LOL!

Just joking Greg is a man of his word... There's plenty of hogs to go around. Atleast when we hunt. We haven't killed a single thing. Russ shot at one ( with his pistol ) and missed :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D, I saw one, and Gregs has nailed a bunch.

I know...! I'll just sit back and wait my time. Just only been deer hunting once in my life on opening day this year...and only been after the pigs for about 30 days now. Kinda got into my system now and just can't stop! LMAO

I completely understand. I love to hunt and I go where I can, when ever someone invites me. I refuse to pay to hunt. Just can't do it!
Thanks again to my little West Texas beer drinking hillybilly buddy, Rowel, for giving me the opportunity to put some venison in my freezer this year. I thank you amigo, and my cholesterol thanks you too.:D
