Default Got a Pig This Evening

Was sitting in a stand overlooking a pond when i heard a hog very close
to the tree i was in. Aftera couple of minutes he came out. For some reason i thought he looked about like an 80 pounder. Wrong!!! Had to draga 300 pound+ hog about 75 yards where i could hook him up to the truck winch. This is the biggest one i have gotten in about 6 months.

Distance: < 12 yards.
Gun: .50 cal. CVA Stag Horn
Powder: Pyrodex RS, 100 grains
Bullet: 240grain Hornady XTP
Primer: 209 Winchestershotgun

Photo will follow in the morning.

That is always a good reason to wash the truck! Way to go on a nice hog!

thought he was an 80 pounder huh?
ya, i would have guess him at 120 MAX on a good day.
any Maybe 190 live weight, with all the guts still in him.
I would have never guessed 300 .. but if you weighed him on a good scale.. he must be.. Somehow.
this guy below was 170 dressed out.. so i guess 240 with the guts.
check out my Post that says "WILD HOG SIZE AND WEIGHT"
were talking about how the weights on these things vary so much.
