Default Best bait I ever found

This works for hogsand bear:
I/we do alot of American Shad fishing in the spring around here. They could possibly be the worst tasting fish I've ever eaten...toss up with Blue fish.
5 gal bucket/1/2 dz shad/1/2 bucket corn or popcorn/ 1gal water/ 2 liter orange flavor soda ...for hogs dig a hole an pour in,for bear hang it from a limb an shoot a hole in the bottom of the bucket
If you want some fun set up a trail cam to watch how the bears try to reach the bucket

Keep in mind that Shad Roe sells for around $30/lb in my neck of the woods....although, in VA its also illegal to possess American Shad...so any caught must be released...hickory shad...no problem....

Most of the shad for plankings around here come from NC.

And I agree...they taste like chit.....the roe doesn't really taste like anything....

$30/lbs..hmmmmmm and I was just tossing it in the scap bucket.
I know it works on Pa bears and hogs. We have some hogs around my camp that escaped from a shooting preserve and thereare always a few bears on the back porch looking for dog food or a cat to snack on.
I put out 2 buckets of "Eagle Chickie's Delight" and had both buckets hit in less than 1 week. I got some dynamite trail cam pics of a med. size black bear trying his best to get at 1 of the buckets that was strung between two trees about 8' off the ground to the bottom of the bucket. when i went to check the bait an collect the pics the bucket was on the ground an empty...I have no idea how he got it down...do you?

Can't see why it wouldn't . Haven't you ever heard "happier than a pig in chit"?
