Hogs Shot from 400+ Yards
 

For all the believers and non-believers as well, I wanted to share more long range hog pics. Again, a fantastic time at the Diamond A Ranch, atop a cliff, overlooking feeding hogs at over 400 yards. With my 7mm-08, every hog dropped in its tracks, with the exception of one large boar whomanaged to drag himself 10 yards into the brush. The great thing about shooting hogs long distance is you don't have to worry about being charged!!
Here is my favorite hog of the 4 I took last weekend.

Jay, 30yrs ago when my eye sight was alot better,I would take any Hog or Deer off my1200ft(400yds) drive wayany day!

Yes, it is. I hunt near Fredericksburg, and the terrain is quite similar.

Nice shooten. 7mm 08 can do that job easily. Nice. The last long range anything Ive shot was a whitetail at 350 +yrds with my 300wby. I spend most of my time with a bow in my hand, so long range for me is 60 yrds with my compounds, and 35 with my traditional bows.;)

Love that country. I ride motorcycles all over the hill country. I also can not count the number of deer and hogs ive taken in Junction. My dad use to be governor Edwards aid (Edwards of Louisiana. I know, not the most reputable of governers). Edwards had a huge ranch in Junction, so I spent a lot of time in Junction during the 80s. Only down side, the deer were not very big during the 80s. Millions, but not any real big ones.

We use to do October fest in Fredericksburg, man can them Germans drink beer.:D
