Monster Pig- Legit or not?

A buddy sent me a link to this website:

http://www.monsterpig.com

With all of the fraud frenzy in hog hunting, it set me to thinking a bit about whether or not this is on the up-and-up.

A coupe of things bothered me, but if you read the story, I'm sure you can guess what they are!

RE: Monster Pig- Legit or not?

Itsa big pig.... but it aint no monster they claim to be... staged pics... plus if the kid hit it once in the vitals with monster pistol, the pig would be drt... 5 shots, fist sized holes.. and it ran HOW far??

I love a good story as much as the next guy..... but..

RE: Monster Pig- Legit or not?

Had my doubts about running with fist size holes as well....just seemed a little far fetched....

I think its BS also. I could see the pig running that far but i dont think its true. I would have herd about it from family down there that hog hunts alot if it was true. I know a guy that shot a piglet with a 45-70 and it ran for half mile then we finished it with a shotgun. It was hit right in the vitals and still ran that far.

They just keep getting bigger...them2/3 domestic hogs [8D]........I agree the pics are very staged.

RE: Monster Pig- Legit or not?

Thats a big hog, but not as big as they suggest. Heck, you can bearly make out the kid in the pic because he is so far behind the pig. I call bs on this one too. Id love to see a kid shot 16 shots with a 500 and still hit the beast. besides, why 16 shots, it should take one from that cannon.

RE: Monster Pig- Legit or not?

Why do they not have a picture with them next to the animal. They are always way behind it. No dought its a monster pig, but I think some embelleshing has taken place.;) Besides, ive have yet to see a fist size hole in the beast.:D

Sewer Rat 05-18-2007 07:59 AM

RE: Monster Pig- Legit or not?

No doubt.. its a big pig.. compare the size of the pistol on the pigs head...

But... c'mon

Hog Killer 05-18-2007 01:43 PM

RE: Monster Pig- Legit or not?

thats got to be fake. I have used photoshop. the pic of the pistol on the hog has no shadow and how the gun is on it , it should have fallen off.

There is more "photoshopped" pictures on www.monsterpig.com. I really can't beleive you guys lol you all crack me up.

in the picture of Jamison and the pig alone, it looks like Jamison is sqwatting next to the tree which appears to be atleast 10 feet behind the pig. no doubt that they did a good job at making the pig look bigger than it is by the angles of the photographs. what kills me is on the website that AmateurHunter44857 seems to be promoting, they are trying to sell posters and other merchandise of the pig...lol. by reading AmateurHunter44857's posts, i'm wondering how much he's making off this;)

txjourneyman 05-27-2007 08:00 AM

RE: Monster Pig- Legit or not?

Compare what the size of the gun looks like. The one with just the kid "leaning" on the hog has the gun looking mighty small next to that hog. Then look at the pic with father and son sitting behind the hog. In the second pic the gun is on the hogs head and looks much larger. Yes, its a large hog it is also a large load of hog slop!

The funny thing is that those photos are real. Yall always assume that someone is photo shopping everything. I could have shot that pig for 1000 dollars had i wanted to. Theguy who does these hunts told me they had trapped him and he wouldnt be around long becausethe fence wouldnt be able to stop him. He is real but was trpped before the kid shot him. they take these pigs from that plantation and put them in a 160 acres fence and let them shoot them. I think itsBS and no sport to it but those places are for another breed of hunter. A lazy one. The guys who do these hunts are Southeast Trophy hunters and it should be called southeast Can hunters.

I have no doubt the pig is real but has been ''edited'' to look bigger.

For your information i'm not making any money off of that site, if you would have taken 3 seconds to read the site or any news reports about the pig you would have read his father set the site up. I'm only promoting the site because these posters on here who have a fettish with calling every picture they see of a big animal "photoshopped" wanted more than one picture and so i gave them an outlet to see the pictures. Now maybe you can quit making yourself look like a fool.

They must have just run in circles chasing that big bastard in the pen. If you take three of the dads and put him side by side the pigs pans out. Thats not a horn you idiot, it a ear on a damn 1100 pound pig.

yeah, i can see where you guys are coming from on the photoshoppingbut some of the stuff you guys are saying is just retarded, its ear looking like a horn, its a photoshopped cape buffalo, seriously, its ear is just laying of like a normal dead hogs ear would, maybe if you would REALLY look closely at it you would notice that

the Hog was killed at Lost Creek Plantation, here's the website if you wish to look.
http://www.lostcreekplantation.com

I live less than 30mins from where this hog was killed and know the owner and his father. they have a total of 2500 acres, NONE OF WHICH IS HIGH FENCED!

They are outstanding people in the county and have lived here all of their lives.

Thats bs, The pig was trapped at lost creek, taken to a pen, and then shot by a little kid. ill send you the email that the guy who puts these hunts on sent me asking if i wanted to pay 1000 to kill it. Ive known about this damn pig 2 weeks before it even got shot, THIS PIG ISNT EVEN THE STATE RECORD!!!. The record is just over 1200 i think. Ill see if i can copy and paste, if not PM and i will email it to you.

and THAT is what is wrong with us.... all of us, as hunters need to stop the BS namecalling when it comes to our sport. There may be some aspects of it that you do not approve, but we need to support ALL legal aspects of our tradition.

I am a trad bowhunter, prefer to utilize my trad gear vs the compound... but I do not look down upon my brethren who do utilize the compound, nor do I look down upon you that utilize crossbows... all are legal.

Just because one wants obtain thier meat via shooting it themselves and butchering, doesn't mean they are lazy.
