First thing is make sure there are hogs in the area.... Hog's migrate and don't always stay in the same place. Check out the links that Rebel Hog put there for you and take it from there. What part of N. Texas are you in?

It seems that I always miss them by a matter of days. our farmhand will note seeing them a couple days prior, usually in the walnut grove or the thicket leading up to it and Ill hunt that area for a few mornings til noon and a few evenings (theres a raised box blind for deer hunting in the center of this walnut grove) and not see squat. could it be I missed them and they moved on possibly off our property?
The lay of our land is such that I cant imagine them having a reason to leave. the entire eastern border of our land is on the waters edge , theres hills and valleys and trenchs everywhere. and theres acorns, walnuts and persimmons all over the place.

They are nomatic, usually when resources start running low, or pressure pushes them. If they have what they want, they will stick around for a while. Ive had a club footed hog I use to see around my place for two years straight. Which two years is quite a while for a hog to hang out in an area.
