I am looking into hog hunting in florida and was wondering if there is a certain time of the year that is better for meat hunting or not. I'm driving down from Indiana. Was also trying to find out about farmers having problems with hogs. I've heard they are creating a pretty bad situation for some farmers and was wondering how hard it is to get permission from farmers to hunt the hogs as well.

It can be difficult to find private land hunts in Florida with out a tresspass fee. But hogs our good to eat here year round. But January thru May is cooler and the hogs are a little easier to find. They don't spend all day in their wallow. Around April mating season kicks in to high gear and the males get quite territorial.

How hard is hog hunting on public land there? I'm brand new to the idea of hog hunting I started looking into it thought it would be fun then started hearing there is a problem with them in florida. So figured that was a good place to start
