Thats why she reacted the way she did. Those piglets were close, I can tell you that. If she only had one teet still swollen, they might have been pretty much weened, but she was still in mommy mode! I've seen lots of sow with only 1 or 2 still swollen and the piglets are already chin high, but she's still ready to throw down.

I wasnt charged directly, but last Feb. in Georgia. I shot a pig as he charged my hunting partner. The pig was no more than four feet away from him when it dropped, and no more than 10 feet from me. According to him, he has been charged over a dozen times (When I last spoke to him).

I have a great deal of respect for those pigs in Georgia...

As for being charged by wild pigs hey it's part of the game just remember how you would feel if some stranger came into your back yard intent on killing you;)

I have scares on my legs from where I was not quick enough :):Dbut it sure does get the adrenalin flowing;)

I live in an area of Texas where we have a astronomical amount of wild hogs. I have seen people charged, know people hospitalized by wild hogs and again been charged myself. My cousin was watering his cows and charged by a sow with babies.

Whether you think they are charging or just running by you scared, I'm not going to be the moron to verify that he is or aint charging me. "he's not chargingjust trying to run by me to get the heck out of Dodge.... I'll just shoot him with my BB gun when he goes by". keep trying that and you'll get got. Astronomical amount of hogs???? IN Amarillo. I hunt Pampa, Miama (note I spelled it just like they pronounce it), Whitedeer, Canadian, Panhandle, Sundown, Herford, etc. etc. I dont get into the "astronomical amount of hogs" till I get off the caprock. Llano, Dickens county, Baylor county, Motley county, Kent county, Knox county, Haskell county, the hill country (Junction), Where is this astromomical amount of hogs around Amarillo? Please, know who and what you are talking about before you go throwing around unpleasantries.

Had to try to find something to gig me on huh? I'm from the Memphis area 89 miles South East of Amarillo. Not a lot people heard of it but most have heard of Amarillo, "Amarillo By Morning" song by George Strait. Amarillo was home through high school, joined the military and am finally close enough to get to hunt. Well anyway I'm not really living there now. I live on Fort Sill in OK. I do go over to Memphis just about every weekend and kill several hogs in that area of Hall county, off the Red River, Spring Creek and Indian Creek. I did boo boo by saying that I live there, I don't. I am from there and my parents and most relatives live in Memphis now.We do have more pigs than you can shake a stick at on our hunting property and neighbors properties. We have killed upclose to 30 hogs in aweekend just three people. We have spot lighted peanut fields killed 5 - 10 hogs, left and come back 30 minutes later and see twoor more herds of hogs. I'm not going to explain the amount of hogs in the area. Just take a little stroll one weekend to Memphis Texas, drive up down some farm market roads and you'll see it seems like hundreds of dead hogs in the ditches and on the side of the road.

Stupid is as Stupid does is a good one! LOL!!!! I like this one better, I use this one on some of my Soldiers... "You can't fix Stupid".

i got charged yesterday, probly my fault though for getting to close to the bay before we turned the catch dogs loose

Small world. I had relatives who owned the Best Western in Memphis. I know some folks there. Are the Chapelles still living there? I knew Jimmy and his little brother. Ive been to the football stadium there many times. I used to coach varsity football and Memphis is one of the schools Id always schedual for a scrimage. We use to do a three way with Shamrock there. As for hogs in that area, I have seen them there. I have got into a mess of them at Caprock Canyon and ran dogs a few miles out side of Memphis with an old man I use to hunt with in those parts.

Sorry for the nature of my post to you. I had just lost my uncle when I read it and flew off the handle. No excuse, just felt as if I was being talked down on and went off.
