I 2nd the Ruger 44. No recoil pretty light a great carry gun. 5 shots as fast as you can trigger them.

Hunting with dogs I like a Rugar 44 mag Carbine, very fast, plenty knock down with 240gr . Lee

Don't like people running behind me with loaded rifles or shotguns! Hunting with dogs, all you need is a .44 or .45side arm. You'realmost on top of the dogs and hogto take a shot!

I have a question,
I've never hunted hogs before. I have a trip planned in March. I was going to use my 30-06. Can anyone suggest a goodbullet weight that will take them down with out messing up the meat?

150gr is heavy enough! If you don't want to mess the meat up, take head shots!

Thanks Rebel,
I was thinking a 165gr Barns X. I will take a look in midway and see what I can get a hold of.

Thanks again, I will let you know how I do.
