Angry Browning BAR MK3 Stripped receiver

So....I bought my 1st rifle, a Browning BAR MK3 Hunter 7mm-08. I bought the Wheeler FAT in/lb torque driver. I bought the Browning/Talley BAR one piece integrated lightweight bases. I bought a Vortex scope.

I searched for torque specs for mounting the base to the receiver on the BAR....I read the owner's manual, I searched the "net"...nothing. OK, what's the normal torque spec? 20-30 in/lbs for the X bolt. Most posts on various forums agreed, 20-30 in/lbs. for most all bases.

I settled on 18-20 in/lbs max....I started slow, 12 in/lbs, then 15 in/lbs , One "hole" stripped at 18 in/lbs...CRAP!

The Browning BAR MK 3 has an insert/sleeve that appears to press into the receiver that the scope base torx bolt screws into. I was able to get the bolt and stripped out insert to come out of the receiver together, now an un-threaded hole remains.

See pics.... Last two pics are looking inside of receiver as best as possible.

I've contacted Browning...hopefully an easy fix....I'm pissed of course. They should have posted torque specs for their receiver with weird inserts.

In my experience with browning customer service(more than I wished to have) ... They will fix the issue properly and treat you well. Let us know how it goes.
